Fostering
In the U.S. 415,129 children are living without permanent families in the foster care system. 107,918 of these children are eligible for adoption. Nearly 32% of these children will wait over three years in foster care before being adopted while many other children will age out of the system.AFCARS Report, No. 22.
At Goshen Farm and Gardens, our vision is to foster children under the care of our families and staff unto adoption into a permanent family of their own. Each one of these children will live on our farm, a place of refuge and safety created just for them. They will develop practical life, communication and relational skills through interacting with nature, gardening, caring for animals and many other activities alongside our staff and other children.
We are passionate to see these children who have faced many hardships and extreme circumstances realize their value, purpose and full potential in Christ. We recognize that in the context of a healthy community and family setting children are able to grow in maturity and confidence of who they are. We also recognize that there are many hurdles and challenges from an individuals past that can hinder them in life. We are committed to each one of these children to see them through this journey of restoration and healing unto completion, whether that means being adopted into a permanent family or living with us until they are launched confidently into their adult life. We truly believe that God will never give up on us and that is why we will never give up on them.
